Atland a cool cartoon

It is kind of strange but. i find it intersting. Here is a little of the beging.

Free Geek Toy!!

Ok so your at home or on the road and you want to watch a movie, but you don't have a DVD player and your computer does not have DVD software on it...What do you do?

Or you have a spare computer with a dvd drive and its not fast enough to run anything worth wild.

Turn them into dvd players with GeexBox
Geexbox is about 8mb and will boot from a cd-rom (leaving the dvd-rom avialable for movies) or hard drive, usb drive, or compact flash drive.

This is geexbox starting up (I'm running it in Qemu so I don't have to reboot my pc)

This is the geexbox main menu. DVD movies play automatically when put in the dvd drive. yipeee.

Shortcut keys for dvd playback.
<-- arrow rewinds
--> arrow fast forwards
p pauses
q quits
up arrow fast forwards faster
down arrow rewinds faster.

It will also play media off your hard drive (if you have one installed).

Have fun!

Zombification (not a word, but it works!)

Okay!
So my sister and I have gotten into reading emails for money, survey for money, and clicking ads for money.
Right now I have no idea if any of this will actually work out, and before you judge.... think of it this way.

I can't do ANYTHING due to my pregnancy, I have no way to help bring in ANY extra income, and besides, it's free to join ALL the sites I visit.
So if I actually do make any money, YAY.
If I don't, then... well, who cares? I only wasted MY time doing so! Tee hee!

At least I have something to fill my endless, boring days now!! Wheee!!

I was also curious, any one reading this... have you ever tried this method of making money?
If so, how was your experience with it?

Thanks!

GpsDrive and Kismet Using Microsoft GPS.

New Toy

Yeah, I finally got to buy myself a new geek toy.

Its Microsofts (Yes I paid for a M$ product) Streets and Trips 2007 which came with a GPS locator. So now I can wardrive and find my way around.

Heres the whole package I have not even tried the DVD yet, just the GPS Device.
The Black thing is the adapter (USB > GPS) and the block thing is the GPS + Antenna.

See its SMALL! Thinking about velcroing it to the back of my laptop (probably not though)

The adapter with protectors taken off.

Connected together, this image is kinda bright sorry.

The whole reason for gettig it. GPSDRIVE in linux (Backtrack v2.0) Tooks some messing around but it works!!!!

A close-up of GPSDRIVE, Thats my real location.

Kismet is connected to GPSDRIVE and now I can follow the location of Wifi-Aps and plot them on GPSDRIVE.

Heres how I got it to work.

Make sure GPS and wifi card are plugged into computer.
Start backtrack.

Open a terminal
type "su mysql"
then "mysql_install_db" (might be mysqld_install_db) not sure right now.
Once the mysqldb is installed start mysql
"mysqld_safe &"
now cd to "/usr/share/gpsdrive"
type "exit" to get back to root user
then type "mysql -u root < create.sql"
This creates the gpsdrive sql database.

Now fireup gpsd (check dmesg to see which device your gps is)
mine was ttyUSB0 which is not an actual device its really /dev/tts/USB0
so start gpsd "gpsd /dev/tts/USB0"
make sure its running "pidof gpsd"
now start gpsdrive
"gpsdrive /dev/tts/USB0"
you may have to go into "Preferences" on gpsdrive and change the device to "/dev/tts/USB0"

After a bit it should start plotting your Gps location.
Then fireup kismet from the backtrack menu.

Tada!!!!

UPDATE!!!!! If your using an Orinoco/Avaya/Lucent Silver card DO NOT!!! upgrade it to the Orinoco Gold firmware. The card still works in windows but does not work for Kismet in Backtrack v2.0. I now have to find another card for Kismet. Bummer.
